Start: Mid-October 2026Normally 4–8 hours per shift on a rotating rota11:00–23:00, seven days a week

A hands-on role combining food-trailer operations, customer service, High Street sales, local marketing and social media.

About Hot Snack & Sanctuary

Hot Snack is a developing food-retail business supported by Sanctuary Consulting & Development Group. Sanctuary provides business-development, strategy, technology, people-development and growth support as the venture moves from launch into a scalable operating model.

Our long-term aim is to build Hot Snack beyond a single High Street operation by developing repeatable operating, marketing and technology systems that can support future locations and wider commercial growth.

How the team works

A cross-trained pool of 3–5 team members works on a rotating rota. On each active shift, one person operates the trailer and serves customers while another works outside on Stourbridge High Street attracting customers and carrying out marketing activity. Other team members are off rota or available for planned cover. Responsibilities rotate, with the Founder providing leadership, coaching and operational cover when needed.

What we expect from the marketing side

  • Actively and respectfully engage High Street footfall and turn interest into real customer visits and sales.
  • Explain products, offers and promotions clearly and confidently rather than simply handing out leaflets.
  • Suggest and test practical local marketing ideas, offers, hooks and calls-to-action, then report what appears to work.
  • Observe customer behaviour, footfall patterns, local events and nearby activity and use those observations to improve promotions.
  • Collect useful customer feedback and share simple daily observations that can improve product, pricing and campaign decisions.
  • Create or support short-form content for Hot Snack business channels on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, including simple phone-shot video, Reels/shorts, Stories, product content and local promotions.
  • Help build local engagement with nearby businesses, students, residents and High Street visitors where appropriate.
  • Work to team sales targets and understand that marketing activity is expected to contribute to measurable footfall, conversion and sales.

Who we are looking for

  • High energy and confident speaking with people face to face.
  • Responsible, reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Team-first: comfortable rotating between food operations, customer service and external marketing.
  • Proactive and able to bring original marketing ideas rather than waiting for instructions all the time.
  • Comfortable with TikTok, Instagram and Facebook; professional content experience is useful but not essential.
  • Commercially aware and comfortable working towards shared sales targets.
  • Willing to learn food-safety procedures and complete required training.

Local applicants are particularly welcome. Ideally you will live in Stourbridge or within around 3 miles of the workplace, or be able to reach Stourbridge High Street reliably for rota shifts and occasional short-notice cover.

Students are welcome where their right-to-work conditions allow the required hours. Rota planning will respect any visa or study-related working-hour limits.

Pay, commission & training

Pay: Base hourly pay follows the applicable statutory minimum rate: £8.00 age 16–17, £10.85 age 18–20 and £12.71 age 21+ from 1 April 2026.

Team commission: Team sales commission is paid on top of base hourly pay. Commission is linked to agreed total sales targets and shared between eligible team members under the Hot Snack commission scheme.

Training: Before operational shifts, every team member must complete Hot Snack health & safety, food hygiene/food safety and allergen training, plus product, customer-service, payment and High Street sales/marketing induction.

Applicants aged 16–17 must be above compulsory school leaving age; rota hours will follow applicable young-worker working-time and night-work rules.

Growth pathway

For strong performers, this role is intended to provide a genuine development pathway into wider Sales & Marketing Officer and business-development responsibilities as Hot Snack and the wider Sanctuary business ecosystem grow. Progression depends on performance, capability, business growth and available opportunities.
